I was tip-toeing around my basement packed full of voluptuous white peonies, soft pink ranunculus, and every type of eucalyptus imaginable. I called out names and numbers, as Monica sat cross-legged on the floor, updating our Silk Floral Inventory. Boutonnieres and vases lined the countertops, boxes full of ribbon lined the walls, and Father of the Bride played quietly in the background.
In December of 2016, we made a goal. We wanted to offer a new service to our clients: Silk Floral Design. At that point, in our three years of wedding experience, we had witnessed countless brides not be able to afford the floral they dreamed of. As a company that prides itself on going above and beyond of its clients, we wanted to provide an alternative option for those brides with big dreams and little budgets. Flash forward to July 2017, when we’re in my basement, organizing the overwhelmingly wonderful chaos we now found ourselves in.
This past spring, we did our first styled shoot with silk floral, to prove to ourselves this was something we could confidently offer our clients. We couldn’t have asked for anything better than what we now call our “Lake Michigan Wedding Inspiration” shoot. Every floral piece was perfect. Turns out, we could totally do this.

This past wedding season, we served three incredible brides. Megan, Liz, and Grace trusted us with our new found floral passion, and we can’t thank them enough. From huge fuchsia daliahs, to rich peach delphinium, to over 100 white hydrangeas, their weddings allowed us to expand our creative stills, grow our incredible G.O. team, and put smiles on the faces of three beautiful women on their big day.

This past year involved dozens of long floral consults and late night prep work. Countless trips to the wholesalers, endless rolls of floral tape, early morning Starbucks runs, and the most rewardingly exhausted feeling of a job well done. After this season, we couldn’t be more excited to see what 2018 will hold. We can’t wait to continue developing relationships with incredible bride-to-be’s and making their floral dreams come true!
Cheers to flower-packed vehicles, empty Starbucks cups, and perfect weddings,
